Unlike regular Blackjack there is no player hand, only a dealer hand. The player is wagering on whether the dealer hand will be a 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, BJ or whether than hand will Bust. You can wager on more than one result at a time. The dealer stands on Soft 17.
Payouts and House Edge
Depending on the results the player bets on the payouts will be as follows;
|17||5 to 1||12.50%|
|18||6 to 1||3.36%|
|19||6 to 1||5.63%|
|20||4 to 1||12.10%|
|21||12 to 1||4.28%|
|Blackjack||19 to 1||14.92%|
|Bust||2 to 1||3.47%|
As there are no decisions for the player to make the only strategy decision that the player can make is which outcome to bet on. As such the best decision the player can make is to wager on 18, which has the lowest available House Edge.
As far as we’re aware Lucky Blackjack is only offered online at Playtech casinos.
There are several methods of legitimately gaining an advantage playing online Lucky Blackjack games. By and large these involve the use of promotions, bonuses and comp point systems as the games by themselves – assuming the game is functioning in a correct fashion and there are no errors in the paytable – will not provide any additional information about the cards and shuffles after every hand.
It should be noted that online advantage play is not specific to Lucky Blackjack and in recent years the wagering requirements for player’s choosing to play any table game has inflated to the point that Lucky Blackjack is now often a sub-optimal choice for the player.
